Those of us who were here through August, September, and October the last few years remember how several weekends were impacted by hurricanes, leaving many in doubt about the possibility of normal church services. In order to streamline our hurricane response, the elders are instituting the following policies: --In the event of a Hurricane Warning along the Lee County coastline: a) on Saturday or Sunday, Sunday morning Bible classes will be canceled. b) on Wednesday, Wednesday evening Bible classes will be canceled. Note: This is only in the event of a Hurricane Warning, NOT a Hurricane Watch. A Hurricane Watch is issued whenever a hurricane becomes a general threat to land. A Hurricane Warning is issued once a hurricane moves within 24 hours of landfall. --Sunday 10:30 a.m. worship service will be held as scheduled except in the most extreme circumstances. This is for your information only. Members are advised to use their best judgment according to their own situations; including bridge and road closures, high winds, rising water, road debris, and downed power lines. --Our current church building is NOT approved as a hurricane shelter. However, we realize that it is a much better alternative than riding out a storm in a mobile home or in low-lying areas. We will make every effort to open the building to our members in the event of a hurricane. Liberty Youth Ranch - Provide a permanent and loving environment for children who through no fault of their own are in need of a home, a family, and the opportunity simply to be children. We base our concepts on a belief in God and the uniqueness, dignity, and inherent worth of each individual. Flying Preacher - David and Dinah Caskey serve the people of the islands of Bahama. More than twenty-five years ago we joined in a 25 year thrust to have New Testament Christians in every settlement scattered on the 700 Islands of the Bahamas. The task of reaching out to a Nation separated by ocean and isolation is unique. Daily activities are varied and at times dangerous. Much hard work and a remarkable team effort has been richly rewarded. Twelve new congregations have been established, and more than 2000 have been baptized. These are some of the programs serving as stepping stones to achievement. Our Mothers Home - Our Mother's Home is a program keeping teen foster mothers and their children together, breaking the foster cycle, teaching transitioning skills, and overcoming histories of abuse. Our prototype home has 8 mother and 8 babies living, learning and growing in 1 loving home in Southwest Florida.
